Enabling All-round View

Volvo Trucks has developed a new technology that can dramatically reduce the risk of accidents caused by a limited field of vision.

Volvo?s collision warning system

Rear-end collisions account for a significant proportion of road accidents. In order to address the rear-end collision problem, Volvo Trucks has developed collision warning with emergency brake, an advanced emergency braking system which also includes early collision warning. The braking system, which is available on the new Volvo FH series, has been developed to support the driver so that the majority of these rear-end collisions can be avoided or mitigated.

Towards a Driverless Future?

Technological advances have made it possible for a vehicle to run without a driver but is a driverless future actually a good one? Volvo Trucks says that making vehicles more autonomous is perhaps not a question of excluding drivers but rather of emphasising their importance.
